    PECO Family Jams: May Flowers

    Philadelphia's Magic Gardens

    Where:
1020 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147
    When:
    • Sunday May 12th 2024, 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Over the years, we have learned that making tissue paper flowers also brightens hearts. Today, we gather to celebrate spring (and Moms) with fantastic blooms of color you can take home.

In conjunction with the Free Library’s “One Book One Philadelphia” program, we are also offering readings of Can Bears Ski? by Raymond Antrobus. Follow Little Bear as he navigates the world and begins to understand his deafness. These readings will be held in our fully mosaicked basement after the free basement tours at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. American Sign Language interpretation will be available for these tours and readings.

PECO Family Jams are PMG’s family-oriented programs, held on the second Sunday of every month between noon and 4:00 pm. Crafts and basement tours are included with regu

    Accessibility Information

Due to the nature of the artwork, accessibility inside the museum is somewhat limited for wheelchair users and others who need stair-free access. Much of the indoor galleries and parts of the outdoor sculpture garden are accessible. Both the basement (open for guided tours only) and the sculpture garden have narrow passageways and stairways that are not equipped with ramps or elevators. A wheelchair-accessible, single-stall restroom is located in the back gallery.

Sensory bags are available for our guests with sensory disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder. Each bag contains noise-canceling headphones, two fidget toys, sunglasses, a sensory bottle, an emotions chart, and a map of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens that notes areas to sit and where to find a helper if needed.

Bags are free to borrow during your visit and simply require an ID held at our front desk. Please email us at info@phillymagicgardens.org or call us at 215-733-0390 ext. 119 when planning your visit to reserve a bag ahead of time.
