The Calpulli Mexican Dance Company performs Puebla: The Story of Cinco de Mayo on all three days of the festival. Performances take place on Sunday, May 5 at 1:00 PM, Monday, May 6 at 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM, and Tuesday, May 7 at 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. In 1862, a small group of soldiers in Puebla, Mexico banded together with everyday citizens to defeat the French army, the strongest military force of the time. Through folkloric and contemporary dance, live music, and elaborate costumes, Calpulli Mexican Dance Company explores this unexpected victory from the now-famous date of May 5.
