    Participate in the wonderful events hosted by the Office of Immigrant Affairs during Welcoming America's National Welcoming Week! Every year in September, events from flag raisings to music and dance performances to language classes and more take place right here in Philadelphia. The events run from Friday, September 15 to Monday, September 25.

    Philadelphia Chinatown's 22nd Annual Mid-Autumn Festival

     

    OPEN OUTDOOR EVENT at the Chinatown Friendship Gate at 10 and Arch Streets.
    12:45 p.m. - 6 p.m.


    Performances, music, dance, Kung Fu demonstrations, Mooncake-Eating contest, pay as you play Carnival games and free art activities. 6 p.m. Dragon dance, lion dance and lantern parade through Chinatown!

    Global Feast at Reading Terminal Market

     

    Come out to the Reading Terminal Market on September 23 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for Global Feast, a festival in support of Peace Day Philly. 

    The event celebrates Philadelphia’s cosmopolitan canopy through food and culture. The day’s activities will include intercultural food demos, live fusion music from local musicians including Farah Siraj (12 p.m. – 1 p.m.), children’s peace activities, and an interactive public art project. 

    Together for Peace Concert

     

    This very special Peace Day Concert will feature a local and global talents! World Fusion Artist Farah Siraj fuses her influences of middle eastern music, flamenco, jazz, bossa and pop. She has performed at venues worldwide including the United Nations, Nobel Prize Hall, the World Economic Forum and the Kennedy Center. As a humanitarian, Farah focuses on raising awareness about the consequences of war and violence, and advocates for women’s rights, refugee rights and animal rights.
