    Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year and Spring Festival, is one of the most important Chinese festival celebrations. Each year, Lunar New Year falls on the new moon between January 21 and February 20.


    This year's festivities, celebrating the Year of the Dog, will fall on Friday, February 16. All month the city will be joining in the celebration with workshops, shows and more!

    Join the Independence Seaport Museum for their annual Lunar New Year celebration! Guests will get to learn about Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Japanese cultures, learn calligraphy, try out some new martial arts moves, taste traditional cuisine and more! PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) will also be on hand with some adorable pups to help ring in the Year of the Dog. This event is also a Funsavers - even more reason to celebrate!

    Lunar New Year 2018: Year of the Dog


    The International House is bringing back its popular annual Lunar New Year celebration to help you ring in the Year of the Dog! Watch an exciting Lion Dance, listen to traditional live music, sample traditional Chinese cuisine and more on Thursday, February 15. This is one of International House's most popular events - you won't want to miss this!

    Chinese New Year Celebration: The Year of the Dog


    Bring your little ones to the Delaware Art Museum to celebrate this Chinese New Year! Guests can expect hands-on activities, like learning traditonal Chinese art, a lion and folk dance, a Chinese yo-yo performance by the Chinese American Community Center and so much more! Better yet, this event is completely free!

    Spend the day with the Please Touch Museum on Saturday, February 17! Lunar New Year festivities include arts & crafts activities, live performances, and making a special New Year's wish!
