Sonny Landreth

Presented by ArtsQuest/Bethlehem Musikfest at Musikfest Cafe at Steel Stacks

Eric Clapton says Sonny Landreth "is probably the most underestimated musician on the planet and also probably one of the most advanced." From the Reach, the Grammy-nominated Landreth's most recent album, was the first to be released on his own Landfall label. On it, the Louisiana-based slide-guitar wizard did something unprecedented in his body of work, as he collaborated with five of the greatest guitar players on the planet - Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Robben Ford, Eric Johnson and Vince Gill - in some jaw-dropping performances. Landreth has performed at festivals throughout the nation, including at Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival, as well as MerleFest and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Tom Paxton

Presented by Sellersville Theater 1894 at Sellersville Theater 1894

Lifetime Achievement Grammy Recipient Tom Paxton is best known for his countless standards, such as "Ramblin' Boy," “Where I'm Bound,” "Whose Garden Was This" and “The Last Thing On My Mind." He’s become a voice for addressing issues of social injustice and inhumanity while laying bare the absurdities of modern culture. An integral part of the folk music community since the early 60's Greenwich Village scene, Tom Paxton's place in folk music is secured not just by hit records and awards but as a loved cultural figure who has always chosen goodwill over commercial success. "Tom's songs have a way of sneaking up on you. You find yourself humming them, whistling them and singing a verse to a friend. Like the songs of Woody Guthrie, they're becoming part of America." - Pete Seeger "Tom Paxton's songs are so powerful and lyrical, written from the heart and the conscience." - Judy Collins "Tom Paxton embodies the spirit of folk music in the most beautiful sense." - Ani DiFranco

Peter Tork (of the Monkees) & Shoe Suede Blues

Presented by Sellersville Theater 1894 at Sellersville Theater 1894

Long before joining The Monkees, Peter Tork was a well-respected musician in the burgeoning '60s Village folk and blues scene playing with the likes of Steven Stills and John Phillips of the Mamas and Papas. Peter's gift for playing a plethora of instruments (bass, guitar, keyboard, banjo and French horn) generated high demand for his services as a sideman and back-up artist. Jimi Hendrix jammed with Peter on several occasions, calling him "the most talented Monkee." Shoe Suede Blues delivers a heartfelt soulful uplifting mixture of original and classic rock and blues plus traditional and new versions of Monkees hits.

Los Straitjackets / Eilen Jewell

Presented by World Cafe Live at World Cafe Live - Philadelphia

Los Straitjackets are the leading practitioners of the lost art of the guitar instrumental. Using the music of The Ventures, The Shadows, Link Wray and Dick Dale as a jumping off point, the band has taken their unique, high-energy brand of original rock & roll around the world. Clad in their trademark Lucha Libre Mexican wrestling masks, the 'Jackets' have delivered their trademark guitar licks to 10 albums, thousands of concerts and dozens of films and TV shows. Viva Los Straitjackets!

It is the battered cassette jammed in the tape deck of the getaway car, the music Ida Lupino cues up on the roadhouse jukebox as she counts the till after close. This is Queen of the Minor Key by Eilen Jewell, a smart cookie with a heart of burnished gold and enough stories to keep even the rowdiest crowd hanging on her every word.
