111th Annual Student Exhibition
Presented by Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) May 11-June 3, 2012 At the 111th Annual Student Exhibition (ASE), works by BFA students, third-year and fourth-year Certificate Program students and Master of Fine Arts candidates will showcase a diversity of styles that combine traditional skill and contemporary vision. In addition to its role as an exhibition and sale, the exhibition represents a competition for the coveted Certificate Program’s Cresson, Schiedt, Ware, and Women’s Board Travel Scholarships.

Architectural Masterpieces Fairmount Park Trolley Tour
Presented by Philadelphia Museum of Art at Philadelphia Museum of Art June 17, 2012 Tour Mount Pleasant (1762-65), Lemon Hill (1800), and Memorial Hall ( the site of the U.S. Centennial in 1876). Departing from and returning to the Philadelphia Museum of Art's West Entrance, the tour provides transportation to several sites in Fairmount Park. Presented by Philadelphia Museum of Art at Philadelphia Museum of Art June 8, 2012 Saxophonist Bobby Zankel gets an orchestral sound out of his ensembles, partly by mixing instruments and partly by moving them through composition into improvisation. The effect is sprawling but precise. His music speaks equally to the legacy of the past (Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk and Charles Mingus) and to the present.
