Guided walking tour, viewing the exterior of many architecturally significant structures located within a few blocks of The Fountain House, site of William Doyl’s second colonial roadhouse. This site marks the wilderness crossing from which Doylestown grew. The tour takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes and covers about 1 mile. Meet at Borough Parking Garage on North Broad Street.

Built in 1844, it was the birthplace of the renowned Henry Chapman Mercer. It is owned by the Village Improvement Association (V.I.A.), the women's organization that owns and oversees the operation of the Doylestown Hospital.

Doylestown Bicentennial Mock Trial
Presented by Doylestown Historical Society at Bucks County Courthouse May 30, 2012 "Actors" from the Doylestown Bar Association will be recreating the murder trial of Dr. William Chapman in Court Room #1. Dr. Chapman died in 1831. His death was ruled a homicide and the accused person was hung amid much fanfare at a facility on Almshouse Road. This is a limited seating event. First come, first served.

Historical Lecture on the Civil War
Presented by Doylestown Historical Society at Doylestown Historical Society May 31, 2012 As part of the Doylestown Bicentennial Celebration Dick Neddenriep will portray Lt.Edwin Fretz, a 104th PA Volunteer Union officer. The 104th was made up primarily of Bucks County recruits. Lt. Fretz participated in many Civil War campaigns with the regiment. Both before and after the war, he was employed as a printer by W.W.H. Davis, editor and owner of the local Doylestown Democrat newspaper. Davis also served as the regiment's commanding colonel. Edwin Fretz is buried in Doylestown...
