Kalachakra Tibetan Sand Mandala: An Offering to the City of Philadelphia from Venerable Losang Samten

This colorful and most intricate of all Tibetan sand mandalas, the Kalachakra mandala, will be created over a period of four weeks, 5 days per week by Ven. Losang Samten, former attendant to the 14th Dalai Lama, Philadelphia resident, and internationally recognized master of this art form. All are welcome to come and observe as Ven. Samten creates this peace offering to the City of Philadelphia. The evolving work will further serve as the theme for an exciting series of arts and cultural events also taking place at the Gershman Y including performances by local and international dancers, musicians, filmmakers and scholars, including: Group Motion Dance Company, University of the Arts, Tibetan Buddhist Monks, and many others.
