Black History Month - James Forten Display Case
Presented by Independence Seaport Museum at Independence Seaport Museum February 1-February 29, 2012 To celebrate Black History month, Independence Seaport Museum in partnership with the African American Museum in Philadelphia has a James Forten display at both Museums. James Forten was an African-American businessman and abolitionist who owned and operated his own sailmaking company in Philadelphia after the Revolutionary War.
