Peter Tork (of the Monkees) & Shoe Suede Blues
Presented by Sellersville Theater 1894 at Sellersville Theater 1894
Long before joining The Monkees, Peter Tork was a well-respected musician in the burgeoning '60s Village folk and blues scene playing with the likes of Steven Stills and John Phillips of the Mamas and Papas. Peter's gift for playing a plethora of instruments (bass, guitar, keyboard, banjo and French horn) generated high demand for his services as a sideman and back-up artist. Jimi Hendrix jammed with Peter on several occasions, calling him "the most talented Monkee." Shoe Suede Blues delivers a heartfelt soulful uplifting mixture of original and classic rock and blues plus traditional and new versions of Monkees hits.

Tom Paxton
Presented by Sellersville Theater 1894 at Sellersville Theater 1894
Lifetime Achievement Grammy Recipient Tom Paxton is best known for his countless standards, such as "Ramblin' Boy," “Where I'm Bound,” "Whose Garden Was This" and “The Last Thing On My Mind." He’s become a voice for addressing issues of social injustice and inhumanity while laying bare the absurdities of modern culture. An integral part of the folk music community since the early 60's Greenwich Village scene, Tom Paxton's place in folk music is secured not just by hit records and awards but as a loved cultural figure who has always chosen goodwill over commercial success. "Tom's songs have a way of sneaking up on you. You find yourself humming them, whistling them and singing a verse to a friend. Like the songs of Woody Guthrie, they're becoming part of America." - Pete Seeger "Tom Paxton's songs are so powerful and lyrical, written from the heart and the conscience." - Judy Collins "Tom Paxton embodies the spirit of folk music in the most beautiful sense." - Ani DiFranco
