Washington's Christmas Day Crossing
Presented by Friends of Washington Crossing Park at Washington Crossing Historic Park
Everyone is invited to join us in honoring the soldiers of 1776 as we recreate their heroic Crossing of the Delaware. Attendees should wear warm clothes, arrive early and be prepared to walk a bit from parking as we always have a full house to celebrate the holiday in this patriotic fashion. Each December, thousands of people gather on the banks of the Delaware to watch the reenactment of George Washington’s daring 1776 river crossing. During the event, visitors watch as reenactors in Continental military dress listen to an inspiring speech by Washington and then row across the river in three replica Durham boats.
