Lincoln 200 Festival Sampler Cell Phone Tour

Twelve tour stops tell the stories of sites near the Independence Mall location of the July 2009 festival, as well as the stories of libraries, museums and historic sites who helped to interpret Lincoln's life and Civil War Philadelphia. To access the tour, dial 215-399-9898 and enter the number for the stop. There is no extra charge for calling the tour number, although you will be charged for your cell phone minutes.

Independence National Historical Park Cell Phone Tour

Independence National Historical Park is pleased to announce a new cell phone program. By dialing 267-519-4295 visitors are able to listen 24/7 to the stories the buildings tell. Park Rangers briefly explain the history behind the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Washington Square and the other park buildings. Designed to be user friendly and flexible, visitors may access the stops in any order or go in sequence for a tour of the park. Small signs are posted around the park with the numbers of the buildings from 10 to 31.

The only cost associated with this tour is the minutes for your specific cell phone plan. An introductory exhibit, kiosk with maps, directions for dialing in, and the first stop are all located at the main entrance. You are invited to visit as many stops in whatever order you please to hear some of the stories of those now resting peacefully at the Cemetery.

Museum Without Walls: Audio

Museum Without Walls™: Audio is a new kind of interpretive program for Philadelphia’s public art. Each audio program is told by a variety of people from all walks of life who are connected to the sculpture by knowledge, experience or affiliation. Nearly 100 “voices” at 35 stops explore 51 sculptures along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Kelly Drive. Just use your cell phone to dial 215-399-9000 and the stop number located on the sign in front of the sculpture. You can also pick up a free Museum Without Walls™: Audio map from the Fairmount Park Welcome Center in Love Park or at any of the Parkway institutions.
