Eastern State Penitentiary teams with Philadelphia cabaret act The Bearded Ladies and local businesses for a playful reenactment of the Storming of the Bastille (influenced more by Monty Python than the French Revolution), followed by a French-themed street party. Call to Arms! Emergency Militia in Pennsylvania during the Gettysburg Campaign Exhibit
Presented by Pennypacker Mills at Pennypacker Mills May 15, 2012-May 1, 2013 These citizen soldiers were the first forces to defend Pennsylvania from the Confederate invasion in June of 1863, and were instrumental in preventing rebels from crossing the Susquehanna River, thus saving Harrisburg from capture.
