The National Museum of American Jewish History presents educational programs and experiences that preserve, explore and celebrate the history of Jews in America. The Museum strives to connect Jews more closely to their heritage and to inspire in people of all backgrounds a greater appreciation for the diversity of the American Jewish experience and the freedoms to which Americans aspire.

    Access Information: Accessible seating is available with advance notice.

    Blind/VI Access: All way-finding signage includes Braille. Service animals are welcome. Touch/Sensory programs may be available with advance notice.

    Wheelchair Access: The main entrance on Market Street and all public areas within the Museum are wheelchair-accessible. A limited number of standard wheelchairs are available at the Admissions Desk on a first-come, first-served basis.

      Leading the Way: America’s First Women Rabbis National Museum of American Jewish History Leading the Way: America’s First Women Rabbis Presented by National Museum of American Jewish History at National Museum of American Jewish History June 4, 2012 On the 40th anniversary of Rabbi Sally Preisand’s ordination, join the first ordained North American Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist rabbis, and the first open Orthodox rabba, as they share their unique experiences as “firsts” in their field. Rabbis Amy Eilberg, Sally Preisand, Sandy Sasso, and Rabba Sara Hurwitz will discuss how and why they decided to become Jewish spiritual leaders, and explore challenges facing the Jewish community today.
