Mercer Museum

A towering, dramatic concrete castle houses the collection of the Mercer Museum. Inside, find displays of the folk art, furnishings, and household implements of early America. There are 40,000 tools of more than 60 early American crafts and trades displayed. There is also gift shop and a research library devoted Bucks County history and genealogy.

Please note: The Mercer Museum is not heated or cooled; plan to dress appropriately for the seasons.

      03/03/12	Exploring Early Lighting Devices Mercer Museum Exploring Early Lighting Devices Presented by Mercer Museum at Mercer Museum March 3, 2012 Lighting collector Daniel Sohn investigates, explains and demonstrates common lighting technologies of the 1700s and 1800s. Participants examine a variety of lighting devices up close, including many from the museum’s stored collections. Attendees may bring antique lighting implements for expert examination. Event takes place at the museum's Collections Storage and Study Center.

      03/19/12	The Army at Home: Women and the Civil War Mercer Museum The Army at Home: Women and the Civil War Presented by Mercer Museum at Mercer Museum March 19, 2012 To mark the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, Dr. Judith Giesberg, Associate Professor of History at Villanova University, provides new insights into women on the homefront in the Civil War North at the Friends of the Bucks County Historical Society's meeting.
