    Historical Society of Pennsylvania

    Comment on Facebook

The Historical Society of Pennsylvania inspires and nurtures historical appreciation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and its place in the nation's history. Founded in 1824 and significantly augmented in 2002 by the Balch Institute for ethnic Studies, the Society is a collector and steward of the documentary record and an historical educator and publisher. The Society's collections inform its interpretive and educational programs, and these engage wide publics, adding depth and dimension to understandings of our diverse pasts and each other.
