Bartram's Garden

Located on the banks of the Schuylkill River, Bartram’s Garden is a rich urban landscape and home to 18th century botanists and explorers, John and William Bartram. Connecting people with nature, the National Historic Landmark includes a botanic garden, reclaimed meadow, tidal wetlands, natural habitats, and recreational opportunities for bicycling, picnics, fishing, and a serene moment in the outdoors.

    Access Information: Tours are available to individuals Tuesday through Sunday from 12 - 4 p.m. Reservations are required two weeks in advance for special tours.

    Blind/VI Access: Some Braille signage. Touch/sensory tours are provided.

    Wheelchair Access: All access symbols refer to Coach House, which has an accessible entrance, but path to entrance is steep. Assistance may be needed & can be arranged for guided tours. Movable chairs in Coach House offer flexible seating options.

      United By Blue's Schuylkill River Cleanup at Bartram's Garden Bartram's Garden United By Blue's Schuylkill River Cleanup at Bartram's Garden Presented by United By Blue at Bartram's Garden June 5, 2012 United By Blue, the ocean-friendly apparel brand that removes a pound of trash for every product sold, is holding a cleanup of Schuylkill river at Bartram’s Garden. Join them for a barbecue and their monthly cleanup. They will provide gloves, water, sunscreen, a free entrance ticket to Bartram's garden and fun. Volunteers who take part in three Bartram’s garden cleanups qualify for a free Bartram’s membership! P.S. Parking is available.
