Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion

The Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion is a gorgeous Victorian-era house built by Ebenezer Maxwell, a cloth merchant, in 1859. It is located in a part of Germantown that developed quickly and dramatically during America's first suburban housing boom from 1850 to 1890. Today the street is lined with Victorian houses, all well preserved to look like they did in the late-nineteenth century.

      06/09/12	Old Fashioned Picnic Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion Old Fashioned Picnic Presented by Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion at Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion June 9, 2012 The Old Fashioned Picnic will feature activities for children and adults including a scavenger hunt, croquet, ring toss and face painting. Guests will have the opportunity to dress in Victorian clothing for a photograph to take home. A juggler from Give & Take Jugglers will perform juggling routines and interact with children of all ages. Hot dogs, root beer and ice cream sundaes will be served.

      10/20/12- 10/28/12	Murder Mystery: The Borden Tragedy Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion Murder Mystery: The Borden Tragedy Presented by Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion at Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion October 20-October 28, 2012 Visit the mansion to unravel this mystery similar to the game of "Clue." Guests move from room to room in the mansion, where they are greeted by actors portraying suspects in this whodunnit. On August 4th, 1892, someone used a hatchet to murder Andrew and Abigail Borden. The prime suspect was their daughter Lizzie, but she was acquitted. We assemble all the suspects and recreate what happened the day of the murders. Come to the mansion to help solve this...
