Bellevue State Park

The Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation has retained the historic charm of Bellevue while providing many opportunities for recreation. Walking and jogging are popular activities at any time of the year. A 1-1/8 mile fitness track circles a catch-and-release fishing pond stocked with bass, catfish, and sunfish, while the nearby exercise trail offers a refreshing workout. Hiking trails allow you to explore other parts of the estate. If you prefer cycling, both paved and unpaved paths lead you on a leisurely tour Bellevue is a delightful place for a picnic, too. Tables are located throughout the park, and pavilions can be reserved for larger groups. The Hunter Barn provides indoor picnic facilities upon reservation. Or, simply spread a blanket on the lawn to enjoy old-fashioned outdoor dining.

      Lunchtime Concert Series at Bellevue State Park Bellevue State Park Lunchtime Concert Series at Bellevue State Park Presented by Bellevue State Park at Bellevue State Park May 23-September 26, 2012 Bring your lunch and go to the Bellevue Arts Center patio or the grass while you relax and enjoy their free noontime concerts! For more information and upcoming performers, call the Concert Hotline at 302-761-6965 or call the park office at 302-761-6963. Park entrance fees are in effect.

      Group Hayrides Bellevue State Park Group Hayrides Presented by Bellevue State Park at Bellevue State Park September 24, 2011-November 20, 2012 Experience an old fashioned hayride through Bellevue State Park! Hayrides last approximately 50 minutes and are followed by an inviting one-hour campfire. Reserve a wagon for your preschool, family reunion, birthday party, scout group or just a crowd of friends! The fee for one wagon is $90. Skewers are provided at the campfire; you supply your own food and beverages. The capacity for one wagon is approximately 20 adults. Bring a picnic and blanket or lawn chair for ultimate comfort. The summer line-up consists of something for everyone, from blues and jazz to swing and big band music. This program is made possible, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.

      07/01/12	Bellevue Hall Tour Bellevue State Park Bellevue Hall Tour Presented by Bellevue State Park at Bellevue State Park July 1, 2012 Tour the elegant Bellevue Hall at Bellevue State Park, the former home of William DuPont, Jr. Hear how Mr. DuPont transformed the home from a gothic revival castle to a replica of Montpelier, the national historic site and former home of James and Dolly Madison. Interesting details of the tour include a "secret" passageway to Mr. DuPont's billiards room, and an underground tunnel leading to his indoor sporting complex.  Meet at Bellevue Hall.

There will be entertainment for children as well as local food vendors at the celebration.
