Peter Wentz Farmstead

The Wentz farm served as headquarters for General George Washington during the fall of 1777. While here, Washington planned his attempt to keep the British forces from occupying Philadelphia that resulted in the Battle of Germantown on October 4, 1777. The Farmstead is located on Shearer Road in Worcester, PA, near the intersection of Routes 73 and 363 in Montgomery County.

Demonstrations may include wood-working, stone masonry, blacksmithing, and farm work.

Snacks provided.
      07/29/12	A Peek in the Creek Peter Wentz Farmstead A Peek in the Creek Presented by Montgomery County Department of Parks and Heritage Services at Peter Wentz Farmstead July 29, 2012 Come for an in-depth look at the aquatic wildlife of the Zacharias Creek. We'll investigate insects, fish, and birds. Expect to get wet. Old sneakers or sturdy water shoes are required. For ages 5 to adults. Pre-registration by phone is required. Meet at the Visitor's Center.
