Accessibility Details
Access Information: All tours and lectures are accessible. Staff and volunteers are trained and readily available to make accommodations for all areas and services. Through the Outreach Program, traveling slide talks and telephone conference call courses make special exhibitions available to patrons unable to come to the Museum.
The Museum is also equipped with accessible restrooms, drinking fountains and public telephones (including a TTY for the Deaf). The Restaurant, Café, and Museum Store are barrier free.
Blind/VI Access: Touch Tours, including touchable interpretations of paintings, and special Verbal Description tours by trained Museum Guides are available by reservation. Materials (including maps) in Braille and large print are available upon request. There is an art making/art history program called Form in Art for blind adults.
Deaf/Hearing Access: Sign Language interpretation for tours is available by advanced reservation. Listening enhancement systems are available for tours or lectures free of charge, as are scripts of audio tours. All Museum produced videos have open captions.
Wheelchair Access: An accessible Entrance and parking are located on the Schuylkill River side of the Museum and are clearly marked. Wheelchairs are provided as needed. Elevators are available.
