Philadelphia Folklore Project is an independent public folklife agency, that documents, supports, and presents Philadelphia-area folk arts and culture - including the arts of people who have been here generations and those who have just arrived. The Folklore Project works to preserve and strengthen the folk cultural life of our communities because they believe that the quality of urban life is directly related to the persistence, diversity and vitality of our vernacular folk cultures.

      We Cannot Keep Silent Philadelphia Folklore Project We Cannot Keep Silent Presented by Philadelphia Folklore Project at Philadelphia Folklore Project September 1, 2011-June 30, 2012 In December 2009, dozens of Asian immigrant students boycotted their high school and launched a civil rights campaign around a district's responsibility to provide a safe educational climate. Asian Americans United and partners curate an exhibit featuring voices from a campaign that sought educational justice in a school struggling with violence and racial discord. Featuring photographs by Harvey Finkle and Kathy Shimizu. The exhibit will be open through September 2012. We Cannot Keep Silent...
