As a professional writer seeking publishing, this event is a great confidence/morale booster. It is hard to toil away without feedback, but at the ELS, People share their creative writing in a warm, pressure-free venue at a hip little bar off Sansom St. Some folks are novice writers who are journaling their thoughts and experiences; some, like me, are serious writers who work in the genre and are looking to polish their craft. All are welcomed and encouraged. Nothing sordid or weird about it--readers and listeners are just average Joes and Janes. Let's face it, erotic literature has been around forever in all cultures. It's high time it's given the respect and acceptance it deserves. Did I mention it's very entertaining and would make for a great, memorable date night? Better than a comedy club. So don't ask why Philadelphia has such a unique event. Wonder when other cities will catch up and start their own Erotic Literary Salons. Collapse

Highly recommended. Joe knows his stuff and wasn't boring even for a second. I've lived in S. Jersey/Philly my whole life and wasn't aware of some of the "backstreet" history that you probably won't find from a "normal" history book. People need to go on this tour. It rocks!!! Collapse

"Hilarious and clean"
I go to comedysportz around once a month and it's always entertaining, mostly clean, and the players switch around so it's never the same. Definitely worth seeing. Expand

Wonderful, welcoming, warm, supportive, encouraging, inclusive - Salsa in the Suburbs is all of these things and more. These words describe not only Julie (founder and instructor), but also each member of her staff as well as the atmosphere inside of each class and the studio as a whole. If you take a class here you will learn a tremendous amount - while having tons of fun and meeting new people. I've been to other dance studios and nothing compares to Salsa in the Suburbs! Collapse

We really enjoyed your class today. We will be seeing you more…I can’t wait to tone my body, mind and spirit (not necessarily in that order). I think your class is exactly what our relationship needs too, we needed a way to re-connect. I just graduated and was busy 24-7++. Now I have a business and am busy 24-7+++ so we hardly ever see each other or even have meals together anymore. It was good, quality time with my best friend. Collapse
