About Us
What is Phillyfunguide?
Since 2002, Phillyfunguide has been the Greater Philadelphia region’s “go-to” web site for accurate and detailed information about upcoming cultural, entertainment and sporting events. Administered by the Cultural Alliance, the site contains information on thousands of events and attractions. The content found on Phillyfunguide is also made available to events calendars of over 20 partner sites including WXPN, visitphilly.com, and the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Why is this online calendar different than all the others out there?
While there have been previous attempts at producing online entertainment calendars, this one is different. It presents information for a complete range of leisure-time activities in the entire Greater Philadelphia area – music, dance, sports, fairs, festivals, outdoor activities, tours, parades, dining and more. Phillyfunguide is also different because it is produced here in our area, not somewhere removed from where the events take place.
Who produces Phillyfunguide?
Phillyfunguide is the result of a collaborative effort, led by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, of regional arts, culture and tourism marketing organizations.
Managed and maintained by the marketing staff of the Cultural Alliance, Phillyfunguide is part of the Cultural Alliance's efforts to increase awareness of, participation in, and support for arts and culture organizations in the Greater Philadelphia area, including the Cultural Alliance's over 400 member institutions.
Who are the Cultural Alliance’s partner organizations?
Phillyfunguide has over 20 partner organizations that use a custom version of the calendar on their own sites. Partners include regional tourism websites whose calendars are powered by Phillyfunguide, including visitphilly.com and area Convention and Visitor's Bureaus; media partnerships with KYW, WXPN, Fox 29, and ABC 6; Local Arts Calendars; and a calendar of accessible events produced by Art-Reach.
Who is eligible to have events included in the calendar?
Any organization that produces entertainment events (performing & visual arts, sports, etc.) can submit events for inclusion in the calendar, providing that they are not in violation of our guidelines.
Will my event be promoted on all of the partner sites, in addition to Phillyfunguide?
While your event may or may not be featured on our partners' landing pages, your event will be accessible by doing a search from the majority of partner sites.
Where else will my event information appear?
Most of the partners in this project produce print brochures for tourist or local entertainment consumers. The information in the online calendar will be used to help produce these pieces. We also send select events every week to KYW Radio and Fox 29. KYW produces the Phillyfunguide Minute, which runs on air every Thursday and Friday. Phillyfunguide also features select events frequently on Twitter and Facebook.
How does Phillyfunguide choose which events to feature?
We highlight content on the homepage, category pages and seasonal/theme pages based on a variety of factors-popularity, timing, a diverse selection of content, and also a desire to fully represent the cultural sector. We welcome input and suggestions on content from our members and the general public. Phillyfunguide partners with the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia to curate the Theatre category page and with DanceUSA/Philadelphia to curate the Dance category page.
How can I send my events?
Just go to "Submit a Listing" at the top of any page on Phillyfunguide and click Submit an Event. You must submit your event 2 weeks prior to the start date of the event. We recommend you submit as early as possible.
Can I change my event information once it is posted?
Yes. Send an e-mail to site_admin@phillyfunguide.com and we will make the changes, generally in 24 hours or next business day.
