Join Azuka for an evening full of the grit and wit unique to residents of the City of Brotherly Love! Azuka gathers the best of the best and the best of the worst from the City Paper's iconic "I Love You, I Hate You" column, tosses in some of the funniest actors in Philadelphia and serves up a one-night-only live melo-dramatic reading full of the sugar and spice, piss and vinegar from the people you love...

    03/15/12- 04/01/12	Hope Street and Other Lonely Places First Baptist Church of Philadelphia Hope Street and Other Lonely Places Presented by Azuka Theatre at First Baptist Church of Philadelphia March 15-April 1, 2012 Hope Street explores the stories of five Philadelphians bound together by loss and love while searching for answers in the city which breathes, dreams and lives around them. At the center of this story are two women who were friends as teenagers, pulled apart by circumstance, and brought back together in their search for hope. Originally presented through our Spotlight Series: New Play Readings in 2009, we are thrilled to premiere the work of this Philadelphia Playwright.
    06/14/12- 07/01/12	Hazard County First Baptist Church of Philadelphia Hazard County Presented by Azuka Theatre at First Baptist Church of Philadelphia June 14-July 1, 2012 When a young producer stumbles into town looking for stories and a fresh start, he believes he's found both in Ruth. Her made-for-TV tale captures his attention – a broke young woman in a rural Kentucky town, unable to access the trust fund set up for her children after her husband's murder. But neither of them has told the other the whole truth, and a past tainted by racism threatens to destroy Ruth's already shaky existence. This story is interspersed with memorable...
    06/14/12- 07/01/12	TBA First Baptist Church of Philadelphia TBA Presented by Azuka Theatre at First Baptist Church of Philadelphia June 14-July 1, 2012 We’re opening doors this year by kicking off a new professional’s production which will be performed and designed by recent college graduates giving them a professional credit and the chance to be seen by the greater community. We are pleased to continue our long tradition of launching new theatrical careers with this program exclusively dedicated to that purpose.
