    Marginal Utility Daniel Lefcourt: Active Surplus Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) Marginal Utility Daniel Lefcourt: Active Surplus Presented by Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) at Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) May 16-June 3, 2012 For their contribution to First Among Equals, Marginal Utility has organized a series of installations in the exhibition. Using the tools and materials of scenic fabrication and sign making, Daniel Lefcourt's works continually point outwards, towards conventions of exhibition and display. Like the industrial composite wood with which the artworks are made, Lefcourt's work is at once real and solid, and simultaneously a mere semblance or substitute.

Filling the Institute of Contemporary Art's (ICA) entire second-floor galleries and Ramp, and activating the in-between spaces of the museum, The Happy Show offers visitors the experience of walking into the designer's mind as he attempts to increase his happiness via mediation, cognitive therapy, and mood-altering...
