Where the du Pont story begins in the Brandywine Valley. Original 1802 black powder mills, furnished estate, and French style gardens. More than 240-acres of history and beauty. Open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call for winter hours from January 2nd to March 14th. Admission.

    Fashion Meets Science: Introducing Nylon Hagley Museum and Library Fashion Meets Science: Introducing Nylon Presented by Hagley Museum and Library at Hagley Museum and Library January 29, 2013-March 31, 2014 Seventy-five years ago on October 27, 1938, a brand new material named nylon was announced to the public. Created in DuPont’s labs, nylon replaced silk in the ladies hosiery industry. Nylon was so popular that its early sales created near riots because demand was so high. Hagley’s exhibition will discuss the early development of nylon and its impact on the fashion industry. Exhibition included with admission. The exhibition will be open through March 31, 2014.

    Hagley's Creek Kids: The Natural World Hagley Museum and Library Hagley's Creek Kids: The Natural World Presented by Hagley Museum and Library at Hagley Museum and Library June 15, 2013 Investigate the beautiful natural setting of Hagley! The unique natural resources at Hagley made it the ideal site for the DuPont powder yards. The Creek Kids' hands-on activities will explore why du Pont settled here and how we can work to preserve the site's natural beauty. Activities are included with general admission and are free for members

    Bike and Hike at Hagley Hagley Museum and Library Bike and Hike at Hagley Presented by Hagley Museum and Library at Hagley Museum and Library July 3-August 28, 2013 Hagley members and visitors may once again stroll and cycle the grounds of Hagley on Wednesday evenings in July and August as we open up our property from 5 to 8 p.m. Enjoy our extended three-mile walk as you loop through the property from the Visitor Center to Eleutherian Mills and back and see spectacular views along the most beautiful mile of the Brandywine. Bring a picnic or dine at the Belin House Organic Café. Rain dates will be July 11, 18, 25, and August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29....
