Craven Hall Historical Society

Craven Hall is a historical home located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The site was recently listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The home was so named, in the 20th century, when the building was used as a school. The oldest section of the home was built in the late 18th century. The property was purchased from Giles Craven by Harmon Vansant, in 1798. The Vansant family then made it their home from 1799 to 1871. See "Our History" page, for more information.

    06/09/12	Girls Tea Party Historic Craven Hall and The John Fitch Steamboat Museum Girls Tea Party Presented by Craven Hall Historical Society at Historic Craven Hall and The John Fitch Steamboat Museum June 9, 2012 Craven Hall will host a special tea, just for young ladies aged 6-11. Their favorite dolls are also invited! Cookies, pastries, finger sandwiches (no fingers were harmed during this process), and of course tea will be served in the splendor of this gracious mansion. Presentations by period-dressed guides will add to this fun event. Youngsters can design their own hat, provided by Craven Hall, to wear to the tea. Colonial games and a craft project are also planned.  An adult must...
    06/10/12	Craven Hall and John Fitch Steamboat Museum Open House Tour Historic Craven Hall and The John Fitch Steamboat Museum Craven Hall and John Fitch Steamboat Museum Open House Tour Presented by Craven Hall Historical Society at Historic Craven Hall and The John Fitch Steamboat Museum June 10, 2012 You're invited to come tour Historic Craven Hall and the John Fitch Steamboat Museum. House tours will feature an inspection and discussion of a colonial herb garden and colonial vegetable garden.  Tour usually take place the 2nd Sunday of every month. Tours can also be arranged on Tuesday mornings between 10am - 12noon and at other time by appointment. To make a tour appointment, please call at last one week prior to your requested date.

A 1 Mile Fun Run will precede the 5K event.  Prizes are awarded. What a great way to enjoy a Fall day and to support preservation and educational activities at Craven Hall!
