Community Arts Center

The Community Arts Center was founded in 1948 by a group of local artists. During its long and successful history the Center has continually pursued excellence in all areas of its programs including classes and workshops, performances, lectures, exhibits and childrens programming. In addition to regularly scheduled exhibitions, there is work permanently on view on the second floor.

    SPRING: A Juried Exhibit Community Arts Center SPRING: A Juried Exhibit Presented by Community Arts Center at Community Arts Center February 12-March 16, 2012 SPRING is a juried exhibit featuring works interpreting the word “spring." The public is invited to the Duke Gallery for the opening reception from 2-4 pm, and an awards presentation by juror Shelley Spector at 3 pm on Sunday, February 12th.

    Featured Teacher Exhibition Community Arts Center Featured Teacher Exhibition Presented by Community Arts Center at Community Arts Center January 15-February 29, 2012 John A. Benigno's photography is on exhibit at the Community Arts Center in the Lounge Gallery. The exhibit features work from his Southwest Landscapes, Adobe Church, and White Flower projects.

    Friday Night Live: Featuring Doc Gibbs Community Arts Center Friday Night Live: Featuring Doc Gibbs Presented by Community Arts Center at Community Arts Center February 24, 2012 Friday Night Live is a monthly event that brings together live music and live art. A band performs in our gallery. During the performance, several featured artists create visual art that is inspired by and responds to the music. The work is auctioned off by a silent auction taking place throughout the evening. This month will feature the legendary Philadelphia percussionist, Doc Gibbs, playing Latin and Brazilian jazz.
