Friends of Sara

Sara Ann Kronrot (www.friendsofsara.com) was born November 4th, 2003 to Collingswood residents Melissa Perry, an opera singer, and Hugh Kronrot, a conductor and vocal coach. Sara has profound cerebral palsy, leaving her unable to hold up her head, stand or walk. Her vision and hearing are limited and she has difficulty swallowing. However, for a child with such extreme disabilities, she has made astounding progress. 2011 was her breakthrough year; she was able to write by herself with someone holding only her wrist. She also draws and does remarkably beautiful art. Unfortunately, most of Sara’s therapies are either not covered or only partially covered by medical insurance, and the family’s finances have been devastated due to years of astronomical medical expenses.
