Briar Bush Nature Center

Briar Bush grounds feature over a mile of trails winding through a variety of natural habitats. Native plants and wild animals can be found here year round, especially at the Bird Observatory. The Museum is full of interactive exhibits, touch tables and play areas and is home to over 30 resident animals. Briar Bush offers a wide variety of fun and educational programs for individuals and groups of all ages, including hikes, animal encounters, day trips, birthday parties, summer camps and so much more! Museum and trails are free and open to the public 7 days a week!

    06/01/13	Great Escape-Well Sweep Herb Farm and Plant Nursery Briar Bush Nature Center Great Escape-Well Sweep Herb Farm and Plant Nursery Presented by Briar Bush Nature Center at Briar Bush Nature Center June 1, 2013 Well Sweep is located in the picturesque mountains of Warren County and is home to one of the largest collections of herbs and perennials in the country. The property features butterfly, herb, medicinal, perennial and rock gardens. A series of lectures will be offered throughout the day. Bring your garden plant list and a lunch.

After more than a century in agriculture, the preserve's fields are being carefully restored. A walk among the trails reveals a re-emerging ecosystem of native flora including warm-season grasses and native wildflowers. We will be joined by one of the preserve's experienced birders to help us find and identify the many unique birds nesting...

This tour will be led by Philadelphia Water Department Guide Dottie Baumgarten. Bring lunch.
