Storybook Musical Theatre

Storybook Musical Theatre is a non-profit, tax-exempt [501 (c)(3)] professional theater under contract with Actors Equity Association; Theater for Young Audiences. The company founded in 1992 provides children of all backgrounds an opportunity to experience quality theater production. Storybook Musical Theatre's mission is the cultural enrichment and education of children and their families by introducing them to and developing a life-long appreciation for musical theater through original adaptations of folk tales, and children's literature. The company is presently in residence at The Mitchell Performing Arts Center in Bryn Aythn and the Bluett Theater at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia.

    05/29/12- 06/03/12	Wizard of Oz Mitchell Performing Arts Center Wizard of Oz Presented by Storybook Musical Theatre at Mitchell Performing Arts Center May 29-June 3, 2012 Storybook Musical Theatre presents an original musical adaptation of the beloved L. Frank Baum tale of Dorothy who is swept up on an adventure down the yellow brick road with a Scarecrow, Lion and Tinman, all having a special wish for the all powerful Wizard. Appropriate for ages 3 and older.
    07/24/12- 08/04/12	The Wizard of Oz Mitchell Performing Arts Center The Wizard of Oz Presented by Storybook Musical Theatre at Mitchell Performing Arts Center July 24-August 4, 2012 Act I As the play begins, Auntie Em sings about a day on the farm. Dorothy runs in frantically and explains that Toto chased Miss Glitch's cat and that Miss Glitch tried to hit Toto with a broom. Dorothy wishes she could be somewhere else. Soon Miss Glitch comes looking for Toto to take him to the sheriff. Auntie Em reminds Miss Glitch that Toto only bothers someone that bothers him. After she leaves, the farmhands start imitating the dog chasing the cat and Miss Glitch. As they start...
