Comment on Facebook The Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College offers a diversity of exhibitions and programming which have educated, influenced, and served as a cultural resource for the community in the tri-state region. In addition to an outstanding permanent collection which includes 19th and 20th century American paintings by the Peale family, Walter Elmer Schofield, and Walter Baum, Japanese prints, Southeast Asian antiquities, an extensive collection of Pennsylvania German artifacts and the largest private collection of sculpture by British artist Lynn Chadwick, the entire Ursinus campus is home to over forty (40) contemporary outdoor sculptures.

The Student Exhibition 2012 at the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art opens April 18th, with an opening reception from 3-5 pm. The public is welcome. An award ceremony is slated for 4:30 pm in the Main Gallery, with an “afterparty” in the Ritter Art Studio Gallery from 5-7 pm. Refreshments will be supported in part by the Art Exhibitionists.

Harry Bertoia, Four Decades of Drawings, will be on view at the Lenfest Gallery in the Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College through June 3rd. The public is welcome at a reception and Gallery Talk on May 9th at 6 pm in the Museum.
Harry Bertoia, born in Italy in 1915, was a resident of Barto, PA, near Pottstown, where he created his well-known “tonal” sounding sculptures and designed furniture for Knoll, International.

As the National Collage Society celebrates the 100th anniversary of collage in 2012, the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art is delighted to collaborate once again with the NCS on its annual juried exhibition.
A reception in honor of the 100th anniversary milestone will be held on July 12th from 6-8 pm, with music by the Paul Woznicki Trio.
