The Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre
The Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival produces "fresh and muscular interpretations of Shakespeare and the other great classics." The Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival is committed to working with and from Shakespeare's text, specifically in how the text informs and directs the physical, athletic nature of the staging. The basis of its vision is to create an environment where artists and audiences can explore opportunities for transformational experiences through the power of theatre that is of extraordinary quality. It seeks to continue to be the premier producer of Shakespeare and the other great classics in the region, through fresh and muscular productions of the world's foremost poet and playwright. Contributes to the education of citizenry through superb education programs that offer students and teachers rich opportunities to experience these great classical works. All of its programs are integrated into the mission, vision, philosophy and the essential values of the organization.
