<p><p>The CEC/Community Education Center is proud to present the final New Edge Resident Artists performance of its 25th Anniversary Season  Nora Gibson, director of Nora Gibson Performance Project, unveils her evening length dance work entitled Vested Souls at the CEC where she has been a resident artist for the last nine months  The stark and beautiful work depicts &quot;the elegant struggle of the Everyman in five vignettes&quot;  Vested Souls takes its passion from Gibson&rsquo;s personal experiences in the workplace and her view that often people are ambivalent about career and torn between work and their personal lives Gibson's work reflects her post-modern sensibilities and her roots in classical ballet  For this project Gibson has enlisted two collaborators, Michael Reiley McDermott  and Clifford Greer, Jr  McDermott has created an original music score with a wide-ranging sound palette including classical strings and piano as well as digital and mechanized sounds and lighting designer Greer lends his expertise to sculpt just the right texture and mood the work   Photos by Deborah Boardman</p></p><br />]]></description>

<p><p>Contemporary dance company BalletX presents four new ballets from a diverse cast of dance makers, both well-established and emerging, in a dance program filled with cutting edge  choreography, beautiful bodies, breathtaking technique and passion  New York-based THANG DAO  premieres ONE WORLD PLAY exploring &ldquo;the way we use and manipulate words to construct our identity and power&rdquo;; with dazzling costumes by fashion designer Calvin Tran, set to the music by Ezio Bosso  LAUREN PUTTY takes a journey to help us reveal who we truly are in HIDE, set to the songs from Radiohead, The Postal Service and Vitamin String Quartet  BalletX's co-artistic director CHRISTINE COX celebrates Spring with &lsquo;X&rsquo; OR &lsquo;Y,&rsquo; a lively light work set to Mozart&rsquo;s score and an electro-tango ensemble COX also returns to the dance floor in the company premiere of CARRY ME, a classic Philadelphia dance duet by MYRA BAZELL and MONICA FAVAND originally premiered with Group Motion Dance Company in 1992</p></p><br />]]></description>
