Leave this year’s dreadful winter behind by stepping into the spring season at Mt. Airy First Friday on April 2. The snow has finally melted and it’s time to bring your friends, family and even pets out for a stroll on Germantown Avenue this April evening. Stores, restaurants and galleries will be in full bloom, staying open late and welcoming revelers with enticing deals. Now’s the time to trade in your heavy winter garb for lighter attire at Mt. Airy’s boutiques, enjoy the freshest seasonal produce at Germantown Avenue restaurants and supplement your house’s spring cleaning with some striking local art from the neighborhood’s many galleries. Mt. Airy, an earthy and diverse nook of Philadelphia, is experiencing a steady revitalization–and has attracted dozens of new businesses in the last several years. Mt. Airy has the look and feel of Main Street America in an urban setting. On weekends, diverse crowds in growing numbers come together on The Avenue in Mt. Airy for civilized fun.
