Calling all fashionistas and accessory aficionados; create your own one-of-a-kind jewelry! You’ll be amazed at the quality of jewelry you can create with practice, material knowledge, and technical know-how. For all levels, this class will guide you beyond basic beading; make multi-strand beaded pieces, hammer, wrap, and twist silver wire with beads into pendants or use as components to earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. Create elegant lasso necklaces with chain and drop beads. And work with Precious Metal Clay, an amazing material that models like clay and, once fired, is 99.9% fine silver. Use it to create pendants, rings, and beads to incorporate into your designs! Fairmount Art Center will provide materials for the first class along with all tools, equipment, stringing wire, and a small amount of silver clay. You’ll want to shop for beads, findings (clasps and stuff), and wire that suit your aesthetics and ideas; the art center will give you tips on where to buy and where to find great deals!
