Cherry Blossom 5K
April 11, 2010
In the morning hours just before the commencement of Sakura Sunday, both amateur and experienced athletes will take to the streets for the 1st Annual Cherry Blossom 5K. This event has been established to benefit the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia Community Tree Planting Project, which aims to beautify the Philadelphia landscape with the continued planting and maintenance of cherry blossom trees as well as set the backdrop for the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia. The run will be followed by Sakura Sunday, the centerpiece event of the Festival.
