Donizetti’s rarely seen slapstick farce about the foibles of a small opera troupe is an extraordinarily entertaining production of the composer’s funniest work. Marco Guidarini, one of Italy’s rising composers, conducts Donizetti’s witty score. The production is directed by Antonio Albanese at Teatro alla Scala, and starsJessica Pratt and Vincenzo Taormina, with a running time of 2 hr 20 min. This screening is part of the Bryn Mawr Film Institute's Sunday Subscription series. The Opera Company of Philadelphia’s staff will enhance Sunday broadcasts with talks one hour before the shows.
