Taller Puertorriqueño in a collaboration with Swarthmore College Intercultural Center continues to celebrate its 35th Anniversary Season with the monthly Meet the Author Series this time presenting Una Velada con Tato Laviera, the Puerto Rican born, raised in New York City writer and poet, in an evening of questioning, challenging and artistic salutation. Laviera's poetry and plays celebrate Puerto Rican culture, African Caribbean traditions, the fast rhythms of life in New York City, and life in general. His superior command of three languages English, Spanish, and the playful yet serious value he imparts to Spanglish, distinguishes his writing from others of his generation. This will be an enchanting evening where Mr. Laviera will share the stage with local poets and musicians.
