The Mill at Anselma kicks off a new season with a demonstration of tried and true (and not so true) 18th century home remedies and medicines. From the ridiculous to the deadly serious, learn how to cure your headache or your hangnail in the colonial way. Admission also includes a flour milling demonstration and tons of family-friendly activities. The Mill at Anselma (c. 1747) served its local agricultural community for three centuries and is considered the most complete example of a Colonial-era custom grist mill in the United States. Now restored and recognized as a National Historic Landmark, the Mill at Anselma provides a powerful educational resource, allowing visitors to experience Chester County’s industrial and agricultural past through flour milling demonstrations, tours of the site and hands-on family activities.
