Philagrafika 2010: Independent Project - The Complete Persepolis
January 20-March 24, 2010
The Complete Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi was selected for the One Book, One Philadelphia program. Over the course of the program period, more than 100 Persepolis inspired events are held both in libraries and jointly with community partners throughout the city. In this graphic novel, Satrapi uses powerful black-and-white images to chronicle her memoire of growing up during the Islamic revolution. Many of the One Book, One Philadelphia programs will celebrate the graphic arts.
