Home School Club (Ages 5-9): White Tail Deer
March 24, 2010
Deer, Tyler Arboretum's largest mammal, have become common in both natural areas and neighborhoods. Examining fur, antlers, and bones, students learn about the physical adaptations that enable deer to survive in the built environment. Through exploration and hands-on activities, homeschooler students ages 5 to 9 work together in small groups gaining nature awareness and knowledge of plants and animals. Instructors guide students in experiences that nurture their connection to the earth, and allow them to feel at home in the natural world. Classes limited to 10 students per instructor. Adults welcome to accompany student; fee is for the student only.
