Alberta Cross
February 5, 2010
Skillfully combining layers of electric and acoustic guitar, keys, bluesy bass and Petter Ericson Stakee's captivating vocals, Alberta Cross' approach to music is evidently a thoughtful one. Their blues rock style often leads to comparisons with other blues-influenced bands, such as The Raconteurs, Black Keys and Kings of Leon. But what has really established Alberta Cross is the roots-rock quintet's ability to wrap each song in warm nostalgia. The band is so familiar and refreshing, it's easy to forget that they have yet to release their debut full-length album, Broken Side of Time. – David Dye
