Join Betsy Gullan and Julie Jenney to see four private gardens near Baltimore, Maryland, and meet their extraordinary owners. In the first two-acre garden designed by Kurt Bluemel, you will see an amazing assemblage of trees and shrubs – including conifers for structure and color, and Japanese maples punctuated with interesting boulders, walls, and pathways. The second garden was also created by Kurt Bluemel and showcases lovely garden rooms which are extensions of the house. The third garden is on two acres with several distinct sections. The contemporary house is perched at the top of a hill overlooking a woodland garden along a ravine, where interesting trees, flowering shrubs, and perennials provide a wonderful vista. The terrace gardens can be seen easily, and a viewing platform provides a vantage point to look into the ravine garden. The owners’ long-term interest in sculpture is evident throughout; some sculptures were created by the owner. Boxed lunches are included in the cost of the trip. Limited to 35.
