In this class Elizabeth Haegele will explore the many forms of journaling, from illustrations to poetry to leaf pressing, while focusing on the most important ingredient in successful nature journaling: the art of observation. You will engage in several exercises to help fine-tune your observation skills in nature and then you will have the opportunity to begin your own nature journal, one that can last through your lifetime as a record of all that you have learned and experienced from nature. Elizabeth, former Scott Assistant Education Coordinator, is an avid nature journal writer. Her recent six-month hike through the Appalachian Mountains was enhanced and made more meaningful by the act of creating a daily journal. Limited to 16. Please dress for time outside.
