A prolific writer and actor, Spalding Gray touched millions with his funny, insightful and honest stories about his triumphs, tragedies and struggles with daily life and depression. His widow, Kathie Russo and director, Lucy Sexton have compiled a series of unpublished works, poems and monologues to continue Gray’s conversations. Leftover Stories To Tell: A Tribute to Spalding Gray does more than recapitulate words—it truly embodies and invokes the genius and spirit of Spalding Gray. As part of Painted Bride's 40th anniversary celebration, the Bride pays tribute to Spalding Gray, a Bride favorite since its inception. Russo and Sexton will lead an interactive workshop on developing solo performance using Spalding’s work as a spring-board to assist participants in developing their personal stories and histories into performance art.
