Journey with the CEC’s New Edge Resident Artist in Theatre, Gabrielle de Burke {Casella} a.k.a. the Plum Dragoness, into the depths of the subway where words, dance and music, sound and visual images are spun together to tell Transit Tales; A Public Herstory. In her most ambitious project to date, performance poet and yogi, Gabrielle the Plum Dragoness embodies stories of subway trips and personal reflections of the ride that so many of us share with strangers each day. This popular performance artist will be joined in a second piece, Yin meets Yang, by Sifu Master Chik Quadir Mason, founder & artistic director of the Spirit Wind Internal Arts Society. The collaborative work blends dance, the movement of the martial arts, music and poetry and is inspired by Chinese martial/internal arts & Taoist mysticism.
