Join Reesa and her musical friends as they take you back to a special time in Philadelphia's musical history, a golden era of indie music that included the likes of Robert Hazard, the Reds, Alan Mann and the Hooters. In the 1980s, Reesa and The Rooters were known on the Philadelphia music scene for both their talent and their grandiose theatrics. Nearly 30 years later, Reesa and the Rooters are back. Keyboardist and lead vocalist Reesa Marchetti -- who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 12 years ago -- performs in a motorized wheelchair, but she never shies away from an opportunity to inject energy into her shows. The current incarnation of the Rooters released an EP, Melt the Iceman, that's self described as "punky rock for aging new wavers." Critics seem to agree that the combination of solid songwriting, polished musicianship and Reesa's killer voice makes for a quirky, high energy show that will have you dancing all the way back to that crazy, new wave decade of the '80s.
