Join the Young Friends of the Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival for an Evening of Drinks, Documentaries, and Discussion focusing on fascinating characters -- both on set and off -- of early Hollywood. Enjoy martinis and wines with other young film enthusiasts in the Borowsky Art Gallery. Films: Shadows in Paradise: Hitler's Exiles in Hollywood (2008) -- a fascinating documentary about the European Jewish intellectuals, artists, musicians, and writers who fled the Nazis and moved to Southern California in the 1930s and 40s. The Brothers Warner (2008) -- the true life rags-to-riches story of four ambitious brothers who changed Hollywood forever. Whether or not you remember the days of Casablanca, Rebel Without a Cause, and Bonnie and Clyde, you're guaranteed to love this film! A post-film discussion with special guest speaker Jonathan Friedman, Director of Holocaust and Genocide Studies and Professor of History at West Chester University.
